Our Impact
E2E Innovation Challenges
Supporting the innovation challenge process and aiding MOD-industry engagement.
The UK Defence Innovation organisation and the Defence Security Accelerator (UKDI-DASA) are developing End-to-End Challenges to support a transformation in the Defence Innovation process. This new approach will address early market engagement, establishment of exploitation routes and scale-up to production to encourage innovation at pace and involvement of traditional and non-traditional suppliers.
Task
The first two pilots addressed alternative Position Navigation Timing (PNT) and engines for Low Cost Uncrewed Air Systems (LC-UAS). The task involved three lens analyses to assess UK industrial and academic capacity and capability on both topics to provide objective evidence. This was followed by support to MOD workshops engaging with industry and academia to review problem statements for LC-UAS PNT systems and engines. These provided valuable feedback to UKDI-DASA.
Impact
Outputs provided objective evidence to support the innovation process and aid MOD-industry engagement in this new paradigm.
