The UKDSC’s, Head of International Engagement, Ian Lane and Assistant Director International Markets, David Hewer, attended the Global Industrial Cooperation Association (GICA) Spring conference 2023 in Oslo, Norway, to learn more about industry and government’s approaches to offset and global industrial cooperation.
Highlights included panel discussions on “Industrial Cooperation in Central Europe”, “Value of Industrial Cooperation in Poland”, “Contractual Issues in Offset Negotiations”, and “Korea’s Offset Program and its Future Direction”, all of which provided understanding about defence export and global dynamics from key players in the market.
David Hewer commented, “At the conference we experienced first-hand the impact of international industrial cooperation in the global defence industry, reinforcing the benefit of international collaboration in global defence programmes.”
