UKDSC Senior Team visit Atlas Elektronik UK

The UKDSC Leadership team visited Atlas Elektronik UK (AEUK), based in Dorset, to learn about their heritage in the UK’s Maritime sector, particularly Underwater Systems.  It was of great interest to hear about their involvement and support to the wider South-West Regional, Local Defence Security Cluster and how the company encourages STEM education and early careers opportunities in the area.  AEUK has over 600 direct employees and supports several SMEs locally, playing an active role in their community.  AEUK presented an overview of their investment in UK skills, capabilities and facilities, the specialist Intellectual Property being developed locally and their success in exports.

The purpose of the visit was for AEUK to learn more about the Defence Growth Partnership (DGP), now that a revised membership model has been approved.  Samira Braund (UKDSC CEO) commented “AEUK certainly has a wealth of experience and expertise in the design, manufacture and testing of Sonar, Mine Counter Measures and Actuation systems and their capabilities complement those of our DGP Partners”.
