UKDSC Hosts Shadow Secretary of State for Defence

Nia Griffith, Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, visited the UK Defence Solutions Centre (UKDSC) on the morning of 28 January 2019. She was hosted by Mark Barclay, UKDSC CEO, who opened proceedings by providing an overview of the Defence Growth Partnership (DGP) and UKDSC organisations, their origins and future priorities. She also took the time to meet with several team members during what was a very busy morning, as well as receiving specific updates on the UKDSC’s Market Intelligence, Defence Capabilities and ongoing Innovation activities supported by the team based at Farnborough.

Following the visit, Mr Barclay commented, “Firstly, we are delighted to have hosted Ms Griffith. It was a great opportunity to explore the key tenets of TeamUK along with discussing the advantages of Government and Industry working more collaboratively”. For her part, the Shadow Secretary of State said, “It was an excellent visit. The UKSDC does such important work in developing our future defence exports and identifying opportunities for international collaboration. It was good to see this first hand and to meet with members of the team.”
