UKDSC host the first UK-India Virtual Industry Engagement Forum

On 10 June 2020, UKDSC hosted the first UK-India Virtual Industry Engagement Forum bringing together a broad representation from UK and Indian defence industry. John Howie, the DGP Country Sponsor for India supported the event as did Director DSO, Mark Goldsack and representatives from the High Commission of India, London.

The forum presented the far-reaching implications of COVID-19 and the potential effects on UK and India defence procurement. Presenters from the UK India Business Council and the Society for Indian Defence Manufactures gave a great insight into the recently announced reforms in India and what it means for UK business.

This was the first of several virtual government and industry activities, that will be utilised to strengthen this consortiums effectiveness for a long-lasting impact.

UKDSC Chief Executive Mark Barclay said:

The virtual forum was a great way to show our partners in India that the UK is looking beyond the COVID-19 pandemic in supporting India’s aspirations for self-reliance and long-term international partnerships
