The UKDSC was pleased to host a number of events with representatives from Japan during the Farnborough International Airshow (FIAS) 2018.
The week started with a constructive Defence Industrial Dialogue (DID) hosted at the UKDSC and facilitated by Andy Love, Country Engagement Lead – Japan. A number of subjects were discussed, primarily around teaming, information flow and identifying opportunities for collaborative development of defence capability.
The DID was followed by an event to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Defence Equipment Cooperation Framework. Hosted by UK Government at the QinetiQ Chalet on site at FIAS. The guests of honour were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mr Koji Tsuruoka and The Rt Hon Earl Howe. Minister of State for Defence. Both spoke of the success in the relationship over the past five-years.
On Wednesday Japanese and UK Government representatives conducted a Project Steering Working Groups that was hosted by the UKDSC.
On Thursday the UKDSC hosted an event with the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) at the Airbus Kelleher facility, which representatives from Japan attended.
