Innovation Challenge Phase 2a Collaboration and Investment Event

On 15th November 2017, UKDSC and the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) jointly hosted a Collaboration and Investment event for the latest phase of the DGP Innovation Challenge, at the historic Churchill War Rooms in London.  This unique, phase 2a Innovation Challenge competition is open to the twelve phase 2 winners of the three previous competitions, Persistent Surveillance from the Air, Agile, Immersive Mission Training and Autonomy and Big Data.

The event was an opportunity for the bidders to meet potential MOD users and investors in order to gain the military buy-in and matched funding required for this phase of the competition, which is primarily focussed on improving the likelihood of exploitation.

Matt Foster, Acting CEO, UKDSC said “This event shows the benefit of the close working relationship between MOD and UKDSC in bringing exciting new technologies closer to successful exploitation with our military users.  It provides a valuable opportunity to leverage industrial investment to support MOD technology pull-through and will act as a model for future DASA competitions.”

Proposals are due in February 2018, and the winners will have up to three years, from April 2018, to complete the challenges using their share of the £8M MOD-Industry fund.
