Data Scientist Opportunity at UKDSC

Come and join our team as a Data Scientist.
Our data team lead the development of the Joint Economic Data Hub (www.jedhub.org). This is a pan government and industry project to better understand the economic impact of the Defence Sector. We also build interactive dashboards providing advanced analytics on market data, investment landscaping, academic literature, patents, financial analysis, and M&A activity. We are seeking data scientists to join our team and contribute to the continual development of our data products.

If you have graduated with a technology/computer science degree, have some work experience in a development, data engineering or data science role and an interest in the defence sector and how it can support government policy then we would love to talk to you.

Our small data team work with a broad range of data from open source, commercial subscriptions and data from our industrial partners. We work to agile methods, code in python and SQL and manage our development using tools like GitHub, Pandas and Flask. We work solely with cloud services like Microsoft Azure and much of our work is delivered through PowerBI.

Come and join our team and help shape you career with unrivalled opportunities to get hands on with a broad range of open source, commercial and organisational data whilst building your network across senior stakeholders in government and industry.

We are a small organisation which means we all need to be hands on, but also be comfortable in presenting to senior stakeholders. We operate a hybrid work approach (with time split between our office in Farnborough and home) and most of our teamwork a 9-day fortnight.

Learn more about the UK Defence Solutions Centre here www.ukdsc.org or contact pally.gill@ukdsc.org to discuss how you help us on our journey.
